Self-responsibility is about taking responsibility for your life, your choices, and your behavior.
If your morals and values don’t align with others, it’s not your role to fix, convince, or fight with people.
It IS your responsibility to choose whether or not you will continue to participate.
That choice matters.
Core values that guide a grounded life:
• Responsibility
• Integrity
• Respect
• Honesty
• Accountability
• Boundaries
• Discernment
• Self-awareness
• Compassion
• Courage
Self-responsibility looks like:
• Recognizing misalignment
• Choosing not to engage in conflict
• Being intentional about the community you participate in
• Honoring your values through your actions
• Walking away when something no longer aligns
You are not required to stay in spaces that don’t reflect your values.
Participation is a choice.
Make new friends.
Choose what aligns.
That is where your peace lives.
Take your focus away from everything outside of yourself and move to an inner gaze… move your attention inward.
